1. Five years Integrated B.Sc & M.Sc in Botany.

Four Year Under Graduate Program [FYUGP] -B.Sc Major/Honours course with research and 5th-year Integrated one-year M.Sc Course. Course Duration is a maximum of 5 years but have the option to exit from the program as per NEP-2020 Rules.

2. Two Years Master Degree, M.Sc in Botany

The intake seat capacity is 40.

3. Two Years Master Degree, M.Sc in Microbiology

The Intake Seat capacity is 10.

4. M.Phil in Botany

The intake seat capacity is 20.

About the Department

The Department of Botany is one of the oldest Science Departments at Gauhati University. The department has a brilliant history of growth and development ever science its inscription. So far about 500 students have received their Ph.D degree.

The Departmental Herbarium has 15 thousand specimens including many rare, endangered, and threatened plants.

The Museum has a collection of 20 bamboo species and more than 350 varieties of Rice from different states of North East India.

Botanical Garden at Gauhati University

The Department has an extensive Botanical Garden covering an area of more than 50 acres of land with more than1500 different plant species including rare plants. The garden is also enriched with many valuable medicinal plants of the region.
