Gauhati University has officially announced that it will introduce a Common Entrance Test (CET) from the academic year 2026 for undergraduate law admissions. The university will implement this change to standardize the admission process for all affiliated Law Colleges.

The university aims to ensure transparency, merit-based selection, and proper implementation of reservation policies by conducting a centralized entrance exam. With this decision, Gauhati University will create a level playing field for law aspirants across Assam and the Northeast.
