Consequently, Lachit Borphukan devised a novel strategy: the construction of a formidable barrier known as a “Garh,” crafted from a combination of stone, bamboo, and soil. However, during the pivotal construction phase, Lachit’s maternal uncle assumed oversight. As exhaustion set in, the soldiers sought respite with their uncle’s permission, momentarily halting their labor.
